For example, a bag labelled 25‑5‑10 contains 25% nitrogen, 5% phosphorus, and 10% potassium. The remaining percentage is typically made up of filler materials that help distribute the nutrients evenly when applied.
A helpful way to remember the role of each nutrient is to think of the formula as “up, down, and all around.”
